Encotech worked with Orcutt-Winslow (OW) to develop a structural scheme that would support OW’s vision. The scope of work included the design of custom trusses, exterior covered patios, and seamless incorporation of mechanical wells into the structural design. Encotech additionally worked with the geotechnical engineer to design a resilient foundation system that addressed challenging soils on site. The structure is structural steel with light-gauge infill studs. The project’s location required a design capable of resisting up to 150 mph of hurricane-force winds. The project opened in December 2019 and is serving Texas veterans today.
