Project Manager | Electrical P.E.

The Electrical P.E./Project Manager is responsible for leading electrical engineering design and project execution for projects of varying size and complexity. This role performs electrical analysis, calculations, and system design; develops coordinated plans, specifications, and cost estimates; and ensures compliance with applicable codes and standards. Responsibilities include managing project scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables; coordinating with mechanical, plumbing, and other disciplines; and providing technical direction to project teams. The position also serves as a primary client contact, supports quality control efforts, contributes technical input to proposals, assists with project scoping and estimating, and fosters strong client relationships through responsive, high-quality project delivery.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Design

  • Perform electrical engineering analysis, calculations, and system design for a variety of project types and sizes.
  • Develop electrical plans, specifications, and cost estimates in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
  • Collect, organize, and interpret project-related data to support design decisions.
  • Evaluate design alternatives and recommend appropriate engineering solutions.
  • Prepare and review construction documents to ensure technical accuracy and coordination.
  • Conduct field observations and construction administration activities to verify compliance with design intent, plans, and specifications.
  • Apply and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal codes and regulations.
  • Utilize AutoCAD, Revit, and other engineering design and analysis tools to support project delivery.

Project Management and Coordination

  • Serve as project manager on small to moderately complex projects, managing scope, schedule, budget, and deliverables.
  • Coordinate electrical design efforts with mechanical, plumbing, and other disciplines to ensure integrated MEP solutions.
  • Develop and manage project schedules and support the timely completion of project milestones.
  • Provide project-level technical direction to designers and engineers assigned to projects.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and project stakeholders on assigned projects.
  • Prepare, review, and communicate technical requirements, drawings, and specifications to project team members and external partners.
  • Support quality control and quality assurance processes by reviewing work for consistency, accuracy, and compliance with firm standards.

Client Interaction & Business Development

  • Support marketing and business development efforts through technical input, project pursuit support, and proposal development.
  • Assist with estimating and scoping of work for potential projects.
  • Develop and manage project schedules and support the timely completion of project milestones.
  • Introduce additional MEP services through responsive communication and support collaboration with other technical disciplines as appropriate.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited four-year university plus a minimum of 6 years engineering work experience; 8 to 10 years of engineering work experience is desired.
  • Or, a master’s degree in engineering from an accredited college or university plus at least 5 years of engineering work experience; 7 to 9+ years of engineering work experience is desired for a candidate with a master’s degree
  • Professional Engineer license in Texas
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Provides leadership, work assignments, evaluation, training and guidance, counseling, and recommendation for dismissal to others.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Commissioning experience or familiarity with electrical system commissioning is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday; this position is expected to arrive no later than 9 a.m. and leave after approximately eight (8) hours of time working. Depending on task needs, overtime may be needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some minor lifting may be required.

DIRECT REPORTS
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
