REPORTS TO: Vice President of Structural Engineering
POSITION TYPE: Full-Time
- Project Management:
- Upon licensure, serve as the Engineer of Record for all assigned projects.
- Oversee the design and production of construction documents for structural engineering projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance with codes, and quality.
- Coordinate project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Perform rigorous quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) reviews of all engineering work and documentation under your supervision.
- Team Leadership:
- Lead and direct junior engineers in the design and production process, providing guidance and mentorship.
- Foster a collaborative team environment, ensuring junior engineers are developing and advancing their technical and professional skills.
- Business Development & Client Relations:
- Prepare and present structural fee proposals for new projects.
- Cultivate new client relationships and strengthen existing client partnerships to generate new business opportunities.
- Participate in business development efforts, including networking, marketing, and client outreach to drive the company’s growth.
- Technical Expertise & Collaboration:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, building codes, and innovative structural engineering practices.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of structural designs.
- Growth Potential:
- Potential to grow into the lead for the structural engineering department, overseeing the team and setting strategic goals for the department.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering, with an emphasis on structures.li>
- Experience:
- 4 to 6 years of experience in structural engineering design and project management.
- Proven experience in managing multiple projects and teams.
- Strong experience in overseeing the production of construction documents and performing QA/QC reviews.
- Skills:
- Expertise in structural analysis and design software (e.g., Revit, RAM Structural System, RISA, etc.).
- Strong knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., AISC, ACI, IBC, etc.).
- Excellent project management and leadership skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
- Certifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to become licensed within 1 year required (SE license a plus).
- LEED certification or other industry certifications a plus.
