Ali Khataw is named 2023 Chair-Elect of the Austin Chamber
On November 17, the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce announced that it had elected Ali Khataw, president and CEO of Encotech Engineering Consultants, as 2023 Chair-Elect. His term will begin on January 1, 2022.Ali has served on the Chamber’s board of directors since 2016; similarly, he is a member of several other boards, including the Austin Area Research Organization (AARO), the Greater Austin Asian Chamber of Commerce, E3 Alliance, and KUT. He founded Encotech 31 years ago, and since day one, has been the driving force behind the thriving engineering firm that employs 35 people between Austin and San Antonio.

TASA/TASB Awards Stars of Distinction to two Encotech’s AISD Schools
The Texas Association of School Administrators (TASA) and Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) have announced that 46 projects were included in the 2021-22 Exhibit of School Architecture. The new and renovated Texas school facilities included projects from 33 school districts, and three colleges were submitted by 18 architectural firms. Two Encotech projects: AISD Govalle Elementary School and John C. Blazier Intermediate School are in the list.

Ali Khataw was named Volunteer of the Year for Regional Mobility
On December 16, 2020, the Greater Austin Chamber of Commerce announced the 2020 Volunteers of the Year awards recipients. Ali Khataw, Encotech Engineering Consultants’ President and CEO, was selected as the Regional Mobility volunteer for his dedication and support to the Chamber on this effort.Mr. Khataw has a long history of supporting initiatives to improve communities’ quality of life in and around Austin. He currently serves on the Chamber’s Board of Directors and the Chamber’s Regional Mobility Committee. Ali was active on the committee during Project Connect discussions over the past year and provided keen insights from his professional engineering expertise and his thoughts on how mobility plays a role in overall regional planning. Ali is an accomplished photographer and in 2019 was inducted to the University of Texas Cockrell School of Engineering Academy of Distinguished Alumni.

Ali Khataw wins Engineer of the Year
The Texas Society of Professional Engineers (TSPE) Travis chapter has named Ali Khataw the recipient of its 2016 Engineer of Year award. Each year, the TSPE recognizes the achievements and contributions of a professional engineer with this prestigious award.This year’s award was presented to Ali Khataw, P.E. on Friday, February 26 at its Engineer’s Week Banquet, held at the Barton Creek Country Club in Austin.
The TSPE was founded in 1936 and is one of the largest professional societies in the United States. It serves the interests of individual engineers across all branches of engineering, and is devoted to the professional, ethical, economic, social and political aspects of engineering in Texas. “It is an honor to receive this recognition from such a great organization. I am proud to be a part of the TSPE which is committed to representing our profession and elevating the stature of the engineering community,” says Ali Khataw, president of Encotech Engineering Consultants, Inc.
