Patrick Morrissey, P.E., LEED AP

Mr. Morrissey is a Mechanical Engineer and part of the leadership team as a Principal and Vice President of the MEP Department at Encotech Engineering Consultants, a Central Texas boutique MEP and Structural Engineering firm delivering professional services ranging from design to consulting.

When Patrick relocated to Austin in 2018, he brought 13 years of engineering experience, particularly with landmark buildings in New York City, where he began his professional career. He had a fast start in his career as he became the primary point person for diverse projects and challenging scenarios, which gave him a deeper understanding of all stakeholder’s trades and laid the groundwork for his ability to lead teams. Being exposed to a wide variety of commercial projects in Manhattan helped Mr. Morrissey visualize system configurations with extreme physical space constraints, an asset he adds to Encotech’s leadership team.

Upon joining Encotech as a Principal, Mr. Morrissey became the Project Manager of a Campus tenant improvement project for a Fortune 500 Client for their newly leased facility with approximately 133,800 rentable square feet and an adjoining Parking Garage. The project was right up the alley for someone who had managed hundreds of thousands of square feet in commercial projects throughout his career. Since joining the Texan firm, he has participated in many reputable commercial and civic projects. Still, his proudest accomplishment is participating in the mentorship of new talent at Encotech: “I have been integral to establishing tools that are useful for designers and engineers, so they can streamline production and focus more time on learning and critical thinking.”

Before moving to Austin, Patrick was a Principal at a firm in New York, where he accrued a rich experience with commercial projects. He was the MEP Engineering Lead for the Retail Redevelopment at the World Trade Center, a 600,000 SF project that spanned the four main towers on the 16-acre site. Patrick also led a team of engineers for the Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) for the American Airlines Admirals Lounge renovation at JFK International Airport. He also spearheaded the technical site assessment for the Deutsche Bank’s 1.3 million square foot relocation and renovation. The opportunity to relocate to Austin in 2018 and “switch gears to join a smaller company with a reputation of taking on very ambitious projects excited me and I have not looked back once!”.

Mr. Morrissey takes pride in his timely responsiveness, as well as his willingness to do what it takes to accomplish collective team goals. Rather than simply going through the motions, he asks questions and gathers detailed information to ensure that the architect and the final user are satisfied with the finished product. Over the years, Mr. Morrissey has developed innovative engineering and project management tools that have helped him and his teammates work more efficiently.
