Rachel Maldomado, P.E.

Ms. Maldonado is a Senior Associate and Structural and Project Engineer at Encotech Engineering Consultants, a Central Texas boutique MEP and Structural engineering firm delivering professional services that range from design to consulting.

A few weeks after graduating from the University of Texas at Austin, Rachel interviewed at Encotech and was hired on the spot. Fourteen years later, she has acquired a wide range of engineering experience, participating in public and private projects that include government and educational institutions, health care, assisted living, multi-family, and retail and office buildings.

Upon joining Encotech, Ms. Maldomado was the Engineer in Training in the iconic Waller Creek Tunnel project, including the Boathouse, Outlet Structure, and the Pedestrian Bridge. This was a flagship company project that won an Engineering Excellence Award. After this challenging initiation, Ms. Maldomado has continued building on her extensive experience in steel, concrete, CMU, and wood-framed building construction with robust civil-related concrete construction experience. Soon after completing her B.S. in Architectural Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin in 2007. Ms. Maldomado “was drawn to Encotech by their website, which had a lot of emphasis on creating designs that were not only efficient but also aesthetically pleasing.” Ms. Maldomado’s proudest educational achievement was taking -and passing!- the 16-hour Structural Engineering exam to obtain her P.E. license while maintaining a full workload.

Over the years, Ms. Maldomado has developed cross-functional relationships by closely coordinating with multiple parties, including architects, contractors, and manufacturers. To complete the design and construction project phases on time and within budget, Ms. Maldomado exercises a service-oriented leadership that allows her teams to find creative solutions when construction challenges arise.
